It is said of Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire(today’s Democratic Republic of the Congo) that he once told Rwanda’s president, Juvénal Habyarimana, “I’ve been in power in Zaire for thirty years, and I never built one road.” Why?
My thoughts were, it seemed a lot is happening in politics or is it because I’m now older and understand the what’s happening 😅. But, in Africa, there’s a huge wave against neocolonialism and also the long standing post independence political parties, often oppressive most of them, are losing influence. Which is good.
