You've got real posts here that are not superficial! I hope Substackers can appreciate that. I find social media due to algorithms favoring payers and influencers is no longer a viable way to connect (unless you have an influencer tout your thing), so I've returned to old fashioned showing up where people are and making meaningful deep personal connections. Capitalism is all about the capital flowing to the top, why would social media be any different? All of the action is consolidated in one corner while the rest of us realize we are just consumers... Again.

Thanks Emily.

Trying to grow on here is real scary struggle, but one step at a time. Disappear and come back, we just keep going. And it's true, social media became the very same thing we were escaping in society, a few people get all the monopoly and then define the structure of what is good content. Eventually everyone is doing the "How I made 100 000 subscribers content" and not actually writing and sharing experiences.

I'm trying that too, showing up where people are.

Here here! Yes, I quickly pass by the notes and posts about how to grow your stack. Even the recent buzz around a small stack library/list while exciting, is likely to get overrun. I hope I'm proven wrong! All that said, I've found some great people here, but it requires reaching out and connecting... More than just looking and restacking. Which is why when I read your posts I thought here's a real person doing real things. 👏👏👏
